Week 6 & 7

Michael Koulianos taught about encountering Jesus during week 6 that brought greater revelation to both Matt & I. I've found that my "secret place" with Jesus has become so thick with His presence that I expect to see him sitting right in front of me when I open my eyes. I feel like I could reach out a touch him. It is so beautiful to remember He is my answer, my vision, my goal when I am spinning with questions about the future.

Waimea Country

There has been a deepening love for my family here as well. The Foundation School that Zane & Bridger attend champion families and the importance of keeping our relationships priority as we are being equipped for outreach.

Andy Byrd shared this week on intercession and called our school to a media fast (& food) to pray. It was powerful for him to share in vulnerability about loosing his mom to cancer and the revelation of the peace that surpasses understanding.

Bridger had a big week celebrating his 7th birthday. We made 10 invitations for his classmates but around here word travels fast when cake & a piƱata are involved so we got to party with abut 20 kids!

Bridger also made a trip to the Emergency Room for a cut from a fall. We prayed all the way there for the bleeding to stop, pain to go, and that he wouldn't need stitches. When he got into the hospital bed, Bridger was so encouraged that he wasn't hurting anymore and he didn't have to have stitches (just a little glue & some butterfly bandages)!

On our way out, Bridger asked if he could pray for the man next to us who had come in with swollen ankles from gout. The man was so touched when Bridger prayed that he would "run again".

Last weekend we had the opportunity to support the Respect the Corners team at a Crossfit Competition in Waimea. Coach Blake reminded athletes that they were not there for themselves but to reach the lost. I asked coach Crain "How do you reach the lost while your competing?" She said "It's all bout your attitude when you do well and when you don't. When you represent Christ well, others will notice".

One of my favorite highlights the past 2 weeks was our local outreach at a housing project with residents from the Marshall Islands.

Week 4 & 5

YWAM team to Alaska in December!

Bringing the heat from Kona, these faith-filled students will be on outreach with Pat Donelson & his local team in Alaska for a couple months. Their staff has been praying specifically for our state in several areas. For our World View studies this week, we learned about biblical principles that guide and define the 7 spheres in kingdom culture: Government, Education, Arts & Celebration, Family, Media, Religion, and Business. We all wrote prayers on colored sticky notes corresponding with each of the 7 spheres and walked over a giant world map to place the notes in specific regions we felt lead to pray.

Last week’s teaching on the holy Spirit was led by Alaska’s very own, Amy Ward. She is BURNING BRIGHTER than ever before. Although she was battling some physical demands, she poured out a huge impartation that I have been processing in awe. I have heard Amy speak powerfully before but this week revealed a softer confidence she has gained as a true friend of God. NORTHGATE LADIES, you don’t want to miss her teaching at the women’s advance Nov. 11th in Anchorage. I wish I could be there too. *I got a sneak peak from Michelle Todero of some of the stage design and its gonna be awesome of course.*

Finding time to be creative

Missions in St. Croix

We are slowly gathering information about he YWAM base ministry in St. Croix where we will be on outreach around Dec. 22nd - March 1st.The most immediate needs in St. Croix are with broken families in poverty. Gang related crime is evident there and we will be working with the local long-term staff to meet the needs of families in the area through various ministries that could involve Cross-fit and basketball in the housing project community and through children’s camps on the secure base.

Students of St. Croix ready for school

We are starting to find our stride here with our full class schedules. Most days begin with breakfast served at 6:15, classes all day, (Matt is taking RTC Crossfit, the boys are in Foundation School, I am in the Media Track), dinner at 6pm and ministry times in the evening. We just got back from “Jesus Burgers” ministry tonight where we shared Jesus and burgers with locals in downtown Kona.

Our YWAM friends with Farmer and Jack that live on the streets of downtown Kona.

While we are starting to feel at home here with our new neighbors and friends, we are reminded daily of each of you across the ocean that have helped us get this far. Thank you for your sacrifice of financial support and your continued prayer for our family.
